Date Night · Cabo

Where to eat dinner in Cabo.

A real local list — sunset cliffsides, marina-walkable seafood, hidden Mexican rooms, and the splurge-worthy. Sorted by the kind of night you want.

Cabo has more restaurants than it has time to recommend any one of them properly. Marina blocks full of seafood places, downtown alleys hiding the actual Mexican kitchens, cliff-perched dining rooms where the sunset costs as much as the entrée.

This isn't a 50-restaurant ranking. It's a list of the ones we actually send guests to, organized by what kind of date you're trying to have. Anniversary? Honeymoon? "Let's just walk from Terrasol and find something?" Each category below.

A note up front: reservations matter in Cabo. Especially for the cliff sunset restaurants. Book a week out in high season, two if you want a specific sunset time. Monica and Lorraine help with reservations for guests staying with us — just ask.

Category One

Sunset on the cliffs.

For the night that has to be the night. Photos optional, jaws on the floor mandatory.

Sunset Mona Lisa

Pedregal · Mediterranean · $$$$

The one every honeymoon list puts at the top, and it earns it. Terraced into the cliffs above the Pacific, you watch the sun drop into the water from the table. The food is Italian-Mediterranean and very good, but you're really paying for the view — and at sunset, the view is the meal.

Book this for: Anniversaries, proposals, "remember-it-forever" nights. Arrive 45 minutes before sunset.

El Farallon

Waldorf Astoria Pedregal · Ocean-to-table · $$$$

Built right into the cliff at the Waldorf, which is steps away on the same Pacific beach as Terrasol. The waves crash below the deck. There's a separate champagne-and-oyster terrace before dinner. The catch comes off the boat that day and you pick yours from the ice display.

Book this for: When you want sunset and theater. Honeymoons. Stay at Terrasol, walk over.

Category Two

Walk from Terrasol.

The 10-minute walk to the Marina opens up most of the city. No car, no Uber, no parking math.

Lorenzillo's

Marina · Lobster · $$$

A Cabo classic. Live Maine lobsters, white tablecloths, marina-side. The kind of place that's been doing the same thing for decades and still gets it right. Order the lobster. That's the whole point.

Book this for: Special-occasion dinners that don't require a taxi. Easy walk back to Terrasol after.

Edith's

Downtown · Classic Cabo · $$$$

Romantic open-air courtyard a few blocks back from the Marina. Famous for table-side Caesar salad (yes, it earns the show), local seafood, and a quietly-special atmosphere. Less photo-shoot than the cliff places, more "this is where you go when you want a great meal in a great room."

Book this for: Foodie dates. Quieter anniversaries. When you've already done the sunset cliff trip earlier in the week.

Solomon's Landing

Marina · Seafood · $$

Casual marina-front seafood. Open-air, lively, the kind of place where you watch the yachts pull in while you eat. Not the most romantic of the list, but if "date night" for you means a fun, easy dinner before drinks elsewhere, this is exactly that.

Book this for: Low-key date nights. First nights in town. Anyone allergic to white tablecloths.

Category Three

Hidden Mexican.

For the night you skip the Marina and find the real food.

Los Tres Gallos

Downtown Cabo · Traditional Mexican · $$

Family-owned, tucked into a courtyard a few blocks from the Marina. Traditional regional Mexican cooking — chiles en nogada, mole, real handmade tortillas — in a garden setting strung with lights. The kind of place that makes you remember Cabo is in Mexico, not just at the beach.

Book this for: Date nights that want substance over spectacle. The food-and-conversation date.

Mi Casa

Downtown Plaza · Traditional Mexican · $$$

Cabo institution since the early '90s. Bright, painted-mural courtyard right off the main downtown plaza. Live mariachi some nights. The food is solid traditional Mexican — molcajete, fajitas, the works. Touristy in the best sense: been around long enough to know what it's doing.

Book this for: "Classic Cabo" date nights. First-time visitors. Anyone who wants mariachi with their margarita.

Category Four

Splurge-worthy.

For the one dinner you'll talk about for years. Spend the money.

Nick-San

Downtown Cabo · Sushi · $$$$

Cabo's most famous sushi restaurant, and one of the best in Mexico. Founded by chef Angel Carbajal, it's a Japanese-Baja fusion that makes use of the best local fish. Sit at the omakase bar if you can. Splurge on the toro.

Book this for: Sushi people. The "this is the dinner of the trip" night. Best a week out.

El Farallon (the Champagne Terrace)

Waldorf Astoria Pedregal · Champagne & oysters · $$$$

If a full dinner at El Farallon is too much commitment, the champagne-and-oyster bar before dinner is its own perfect mini-night. A glass of something cold, oysters on the rocks above the Pacific, sunset. You're 10 minutes' walk from your bed at Terrasol.

Book this for: Pre-dinner romance. Birthdays. The "Let's just do one perfect hour" mid-week date.

Practical Notes

Two things to know before you book.

Sunset timing matters

Cabo sunsets range from about 5:50 PM (December) to 7:30 PM (June). The sunset cliff restaurants book the sunset hour first. If you want the view, reserve early in the day for that specific time slot, ideally 1-2 weeks out in high season.

Let us help with reservations

Monica and Lorraine are in Cabo and know all of these spots. When you book direct, they're happy to help arrange reservations, recommend the best night-of-the-week for a specific restaurant, or call ahead to make sure your table has the view you want. Just ask when you check in.

Book the room. We'll help book the table.

Stay at Terrasol Elite for the trip — and use code 50OFF for 50% off through October 2026.
