Terrasol Beach Resort Review: What to Expect Before You Book

The short answer

Terrasol Beach Resort is a beachfront condo property on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas, with Playa Grande on one side and Grand Solmar on the other. It's a large resort of individually owned condos, not a single hotel brand, and we personally manage a set of those beachfront units as the actual owners, not a hotel chain or third-party management company. If you're weighing whether it's worth staying here, the short answer is: real beachfront sand, real kitchens, and a quieter stretch of Pacific coast than downtown Cabo, with the tradeoffs of a large multi-owner property. Here's what that actually looks like day to day.

Where Terrasol Sits

Terrasol Beach Resort sits on the Pacific coastline of Cabo San Lucas. Playa Grande is the immediate neighbor on one side, Grand Solmar on the other. The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is steps away on the same Pacific beach, sharing the same ocean and the same sunset views, without being part of or operated by Terrasol. This is the Pacific side of Cabo, not the Sea of Cortez side near the marina and downtown, and the two sides feel genuinely different. Pacific side means wider beach, bigger surf, and dramatic sunsets. It also means a short drive or rideshare into downtown Cabo for nightlife and the marina, rather than walking distance.

The Beach and the Views

The resort's own stretch of Pacific sand runs right up to the building. You're not crossing a road or a golf course to reach the water. Because it's on the Pacific side, the swimming conditions can be rougher than the calmer Sea of Cortez beaches near the marina, so it's a better fit for sunset walks, whale watching in season, and surf-adjacent views than for calm-water swimming with small kids. The sunsets here are the main event. Facing west on open Pacific water, you get unobstructed sunset views most evenings without a building or point of land in the way.

What Our Condos Are Actually Like

These are residential condos, not hotel rooms. Each unit we manage has a real kitchen, real living space, and a private patio or balcony facing the ocean. That matters for a trip longer than a couple of nights: you can cook breakfast, keep groceries cold, and skip a restaurant meal here and there instead of eating out for every single meal of the trip. Exact bedroom counts, bathroom counts, and sleeping capacity vary by condo. Our Honeymoon Dream unit, for example, is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom condo that sleeps two, and works well for a couple who wants a compact, private space right on the beach. For layout, sleeping capacity, and current nightly rates on any other specific unit, contact us for current figures, since this varies condo to condo and by season.

The Reality of a Large, Multi-Owner Resort

Terrasol Beach Resort has 140 condos total, owned individually and rented out by many different owners and agents, not one central company. We manage and personally handle guest communication, check-in, and support only for the specific beachfront condos that are ours. When you book with us, you're booking directly from the owner of that condo, not a platform listing or a random unit assigned by a front desk. Worth knowing before you book anywhere at Terrasol: ask who actually owns and manages the unit you're looking at, because service and unit quality can vary across a resort this size with this many different owners.

Booking Direct vs. Airbnb or a Third-Party Platform

Airbnb typically adds a service fee in the 14 to 16 percent range on top of the nightly rate for a booking here. VRBO's service fee typically runs 6 to 12 percent. Booking directly with us through our own booking engine skips that markup, since you're paying the owner instead of paying the owner's rate plus a platform fee stacked on top. It also means you're talking to the actual owner if something comes up during your stay, not a support ticket routed through a platform.

Current Promotion

As of 2026, we're running 50% off stays through October with the code 50OFF on direct bookings only. This doesn't apply to bookings made through Airbnb or other third-party platforms. Contact us to confirm the code is still active before you book, since promotions like this have end dates.

Who This Resort Fits Best

- Couples wanting privacy and a real sunset view: A compact one-bedroom unit like Honeymoon Dream keeps things simple and right on the sand.

- Travelers who want to cook some meals: A full kitchen in a condo cuts down on restaurant spend over a multi-night trip in a way a hotel room can't.

- People who want quiet over nightlife proximity: The Pacific side is calmer and less crowded than the marina strip, at the cost of a short drive into town for bars and restaurants.

- Whale watching season visitors: Pacific-side placement puts you closer to whale activity during the winter migration months, since that's the side of Cabo where whales are most commonly spotted from shore.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Terrasol Beach Resort actually beachfront, or just close to the beach?

It's genuinely beachfront. The resort's own stretch of Pacific sand runs up to the building, with Playa Grande on one side and Grand Solmar on the other.

Is Terrasol next door to the Waldorf Astoria?

No. It's steps away on the same Pacific beach as the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, sharing the same ocean views, not attached to or operated by it.

How many condos are at Terrasol Beach Resort, and are they all yours?

Terrasol Beach Resort has 140 condos total, owned by many different individuals and rented through different owners and agents. We manage a set of the resort's beachfront condos ourselves. Contact us for the current list of which specific units we manage.

Is the water good for swimming at Terrasol's beach?

It's Pacific-side water, which tends to run rougher than the calmer Sea of Cortez beaches near the marina. It's better suited to sunset walks and whale watching than calm swimming, especially with small kids.

How much do I save booking direct instead of through Airbnb?
